About Bliss
The birth of a baby should be one of the happiest experiences for a family, but for parents of a baby born premature or sick, it can be an incredibly frightening time. One in nine babies born in the UK, or 80,000 a year, will need specialist hospital care due to being born too soon, too small or too sick.
Bliss is the leading national charity dedicated to caring for premature and sick babies and their families. We ensure that they have the best chance of survival and of reaching their full potential. We give parents of the sickest and tiniest babies somewhere to turn to for help, advice and support. We work with doctors and nurses and together we are dedicated to improving the care that premature and sick babies receive. We are the voice for them and their families, making sure their needs are always heard.
Small sums of money donated to Bliss can be used to help us to make a big difference to parents thrown into a world of turmoil when their baby is admitted to hospital.
Bliss would like to do more to help them: £10 could provide a family with crucial support through our freephone helpline, £22 could pay for a Bliss Nurse to spend one hour directly supporting anxious parents to help them cope, £40 could fund a counselling session for a parent in need, £500 could enable a Family Group to run for a year helping parents in the community. Please include a donation when purchasing your tickets or come drop your bags off with us while you shop at the show to help us continue to support the families of premature and sick babies when they need us the most.
Thank you.
